On April 10th, KICJ convened a policy research council with the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office.
From the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, participants included Prosecutor General Won-Seok Lee, Director Kang Song of the Planning & Coordination Department, Director Byeong-ju Hwang of the Criminal Department, Human Rights Policy Officer Eok-su Park, Criminal Justice Policy Officer Jong-hyun Kim, and Director Jong-woo Kim of the Policy & Division. Prosecution Research Officers Su-hong Kim, Sang-hyeon Kim, So-hee Seo, and Jung-hwa Park were also present.
From KICJ, participants included President Tae-hoon Ha, Vice President Jun Hwi Park, Department Head Jee Young Yun of the Department of Criminal Justice Policy Research, Department Head Hyung-Min Bark of the Department of Legal Policy Research, Director Jung Sook Yoon of the Crime Analysis & Survey Research Division, Director Tae Gyung Gahng of the Crime Prevention & Corrections Research Division, Seong-Hoon Park, Head of the Digital Center for Criminal Justice and Law, Director Jea Hyen Soung of the International Affairs Division, and Yeong-jung Kim, Manager of the Planning & Evaluation Team.
The council discussed potential policy projects such as ▲criminal procedure research ▲research on current cases such as the Gangnam kidnapping and murder case, Daechi-dong drug blackmail case, etc. ▲organizing a joint council with relevant institutions for combatting drug-related crime ▲empirical research on crimes that damage civilian livelihoods.
