On Tuesday, September 10, Woong Seok Jeong, President of the Korean Institute of Criminology and Justice (KICJ), visited the National Court Administration, led by Chief Justice Dae-yeob Cheon, and met with Supreme Court Justice Tae-ak Roh to discuss ways to enhance collaboration between the judiciary and the institute.
Representing the National Court Administration were Chief Justice Cheon, the Chief Planning Officer, and the Criminal Support Officer. The KICJ delegation included President Woong Seok Jeong, Vice President Jun Hwi Park, Director Young-Joong Kim of the Planning and Administration Department, and Deputy Director Yoori Seong of the Domestic Cooperation and Public Relations Team.
Additionally, President Jeong held a separate meeting with Justice Roh to focus on the upcoming implementation of electronic criminal procedure systems, set to launch next year.
The discussions encompassed a range of key topics, including improving access to full-text court rulings, introducing a criminal justice statistical service, expanding the availability of statistical data in legal fields, and strengthening research cooperation. These initiatives aim to foster a more robust partnership between the two institutions.
