On Wednesday, September 11, President Woong Seok Jeong of the Korean Institute of Criminology and Justice (KICJ) and representatives from the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Korea (MOJ) met to explore avenues for enhancing collaboration and exchange between the two institutions.
The MOJ delegation, led by Justice Minister Sung Jae Park, included Director Pil Gun Byun of the Planning and Coordination Bureau, Director Kang Song of the Prosecution Service Division, and Director Jae-hyeon Seung of the Human Rights Bureau. Representing the KICJ were President Woong Seok Jeong, Vice President Jun Hwi Park, Deputy Chief Prosecutor Hee-Won Jeong, and Director Young-Joong Kim of the Planning and Administration Department.
The meeting featured in-depth discussions on key issues, including: 1) strategies for sharing criminal justice and legal statistical data, 2) research aimed at diagnosing and improving criminal justice procedures, and 3) strengthening research cooperation on legal policy initiatives.
