On October 26th, KICJ and the National Policy Agency organized a forum on the revision of Assembly and Demonstration Act.

KICJ Research Fellow Dr. Jeahyen Soung presided over the debate. Led by Prof. Seong-ho Jae from Chung-Ang University Law School, Prof. Hiehoun Lee from Sun Moon University spoke about measures to protect the citizens' right to tranquility from noise generated during demonstrations. The presentation was followed by a discussion between Woo-suk Kim, representative lawyer at Myungjin law firm, and Lieutenant Woncheol Ha from Yangsan Police. Prof. Wonkyu Park from Kunsan National University delivered the next talk on the legitimacy of the current Article on places prohibited for assemblies and potential revisions to it. Prof. Danbi Choi from Wonkwang University Law School and KICJ Research Fellow Dr. Hyunwook Chun participated in the subsequent debate. The event concluded with a general discussion involving all attendees.
