On August 25, KICJ and the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO) organized a joint conference on the topic of enhancing the investigative and organizational capacities of CIO as an investigative and prosecuting authority. The event was held at EL Tower, Seoul.
“This conference is a space for experts and practitioners to discuss what actions are required to establish the Corruption Investigation Office as a citizen-centered, human rights-based investigative organization,” said KICJ President Tae-hoon Ha in his congratulatory remarks. “I hope that fruitful discussions of this conference will help shed light on the future path of CIO.”
Beginning with CIO Chief Prosecutor Jin-wook Kim’s keynote address, Prof. Byung-Doo Oh from Hongik University spoke on ‘Strategies for effective cooperation between CIO and other investigative and administrative authorities’ and Prof. Keun-Woo Lee from Gachon University on ‘Improving investigative capabilities of CIO,’ followed by discussions.
