The 30th regular session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice was conducted in a hybrid format from 17 to 21 May 2021. At , KIC president In-Sup Han pointed out how crimes have evolved in various ways during the COVID19 crisis and their impacts on our societies. In particular, he emphasized the severity of cybersex crimes and introduced strengthened statutory measures Korea took in response to the cybersex crimes, including intensified punishment for sexually exploitative materials targeting children, penalizing online sexual grooming of children, and employing the use of undercover investigators for effective crime investigation. He highlighted the importance of international criminal justice cooperation to arrest perpetrators, to confiscate proceeds of crime, and eventually to eradicate transnational crimes.
