Retirement Ceremony of the President of KICJ

The Korean Institute of Criminology and Justice (KICJ) held a retirement ceremony of President Insup Han on July 27, 2021 in hybrid format. Since President Han took the oath of office in 2018, he has devoted himself in the most critical operations and management processes to consolidate KICJ’s position as the leader of crime and criminal justice research by emphasizing the importance of evidence-based research for policy-making; enhancing collaborative research with relevant bodies; strengthening the international cooperation; and reinforcing the dissemination of research. President Han contributed to the change in the name of the institute from Korean Institute of Criminology (KIC) to Korean Institute of Criminology and Justice (KICJ), laying a foundation for providing support in the development of policy across a broad range of judicial affairs. In the ceremony, President Han delivered a speech, saying “I cherish every moment I spent in KICJ with all the members ... and I wish KICJ to pursue collaborative and interdisciplinary research to become a world-leading think tank in criminology and justice as well as to build a fair and just society free from crime and catastrophe.” ㅇ Date: July 27, 2021 ㅇ Time: 11:00 a.m. ㅇ Venue: KICJ Seminar Room (12F) and via Zoom * KICJ is currently inviting papers for the upcoming issue of International Journal of Criminal Justice.
