KICJ signs MOU with Korean Association of the Law of Civil Procedure

On November 4th, 2021, the Korean Institute of Criminology and Justice (President Tae-Hoon Ha) signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation and Collaboration with the Korean Association of the Law of Civil Procedure (Chairman Cheonsoo Kim) for the ‘improving research results and capacity in the field of the law of civil procedure.’ Through the MOU, both parties will actively cooperate to establish a collaborative research system and seek mid/long-term development plan in the field of the law of civil procedure through the collaborative research projects, exchange of research personnel, hosting of joint seminars, and share information. In the ceremony, President Ha (KICJ) delivered a speech, saying ‘The MOU is expected to bring about diverse research projects and seminars related to the invigoration of the various dispute resolution measures in international/domestic arbitration and mediation; designing of effective solutions to collective disputes; research on international investment disputes; and development of dispute resolution methods aligned with the 4th Industrial Revolution Digital Era.“ *With its name change on May 18th, 2021, the KICJ plans to expand interdisciplinary collaboration in all areas of legal policy, including civil, commercial, and national litigation.
