On February 17th, KICJ hosted its 1st Open Forum on the topic of 'Korean Mentality behind the Nation,' held online. Professor Taekyun Hur from the Department of Psychology at Korea University was invited to speak. Prof. Hur spoke on institution designs that reflect on its effects; individualism, collectivism, and relationalism; humanism and anthropocentrism; and the role of psychology in the criminal justice system. Comparative analyses between countries were used to illustrate the talking points. The presentation was followed by a discussion with the audience on criminal justice research and relationalism in Korean society. KICJ has changed the title of the event from 'Wednesday Seminar' to 'Open Forum,' encompassing a broader range of topics.
