On September 22, KICJ convened the 52th Sejong National Leadership Forum at Sebitseom in Seoul.

The 52th Sejong National Leadership Forum, with the main topic of “Discussing National Strategies with Localities,” was attended by 17 directors from institutes of the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities and Social Sciences to discuss strategies for establishing a security management system at national and local levels.

“We hope the 52th Sejong National Leadership Forum will be an opportunity to reflect on safety issues of our society and the global city of Seoul,” Hae-Gu Jung, Chairperson of the National Research Council, said in his welcoming speech.

KICJ President Tae-hoon Ha remarked: “At this Forum we aim to devise strategies for the future of the city, reinvent our safety system, and develop insights for the safety of citizens.”

On the topic of safety, Seong-sup Kim, member of the Seoul Autonomous Police Committee, introduced safety measure cases. Chang-hoon Shin, Commander of the Han River Police, gave an overview of the Han River Police.

On the topic of national disaster safety budgeting and prevention measures of local administration, President Hyung-soo Park of the Seoul Institute spoke on major issues in national disaster and safety control policies and suggested action plans.
