On November 13, Director Taro Morinaga of the United Nations Asia and Far East Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders (UNAFEI) visited KICJ. The purpose of the visit was to discuss potential research collaborations between KICJ and UNAFEI on "abnormal motive crimes" or random attack crimes, and co-organizing an Expert Group Meeting in 2024.

KICJ and UNAFEI agreed that against the backdrop of a dramatic increase in random attack crimes in Korea, Japanese research on ‘lone wolf’ attacks will be helpful for exploring crime prevention measures, and to continue discussion at the EGM in February 2024.
