On November 1, members of KICJ attended the 2023 UNPNI Fall Coordination Meeting held in Vancouver, Canada.

Institutes of the UN Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Programme Network, or PNI, is a global network consisting of 18 regional and interregional criminal justice research institutions. It was developed to support and enhance international cooperation in crime and criminal justice. PNI aims to tackle transnational organized crime by providing services such as information exchange, research, training, and public education in crime and criminal justice.

PNI Coordination Meeting is held twice every year in spring and fall to discuss joint activities between its member institutions. The 2023 Fall Coordination Meeting was organized by the International Centre for Criminal Law Reform and Criminal Justice Policy (ICCLR) in Vancouver, Canada. KICJ President Tae-hoon Ha, Director Jisun Choi of the Division of International Affairs, and Senior Program Officer Joowon Na attended the meeting.

Main agenda of the meeting included the implementation and follow-up of the Kyoto Declaration adopted at the 14th UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, preparations for the upcoming 15th Crime Congress in the United Arab Emirates in 2026, updates on PNI members preparing for the 33rd Session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ), and scheduling the date and location of the PNI Fall Coordination Meeting in 2024.
