On July 21st, iCPCJ members from the Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ) visited KICJ for the Expert Group Meeting on crime prevention and criminal justice. Commencing with welcoming remarks from Jin You, Deputy Director of KICJ International Cooperation Center, four presentations were given on recent criminal justice practices and approaches in each country. Hae Sung Yoon, KICJ Senior Research Fellow, and Sung-Hoon Park, KICJ Research Fellow, each discussed the juvenile justice system in Korea. Next, Kattiya Ratanadilok, Director of Justice Research and Development Institute of Thailand Ministry of Justice, talked about the recidivism prevention act on sexual and other violent offenses. The final presentation was delivered by Assanee Sangkhanate, Director of Penology Division of Thailand Department of Corrections, on the management of prisons during the COVID-19 pandemic. The event concluded with a Q&A session with the audience.
