American Society of Criminology Annual Meeting and Research Networking

KICJ attended the American Society of Criminology (ASC) Annual Meeting in Philadelphia from November 15 to 18 and met with criminal justice and legal research institutions.

 

The American Society of Criminology Annual Meeting is an international academic conference in which criminal justice researchers and practitioners around the world share research outcomes and discuss policy proposals. The 78th meeting this year was held on the topic of “Seeking Justice: Reconciling with our Past, Reimagining the Future,” with over 1,000 thematic sessions on the newest research results on crime and criminal justice as well as criminal justice theory, policy, and practice. After the ASC Annual Meeting, KICJ visited criminal justice and legal research institutions in New York to discuss potential collaborations.

 

KICJ Vice President Jun Hwi Park, Director Hyung-Min Park of the Department of Legal Policy Research, Director Jisun Choi of the Division of International Affairs, and Director Kyoungmi Lee of the Domestic Cooperation & PR Team attended the ASC Annual Meeting, participating in various thematic sessions to share and observe new trends in criminal justice research and practice. They organized and participated in two MOU signings, a thematic session presentation, a roundtable, official events, and three visits to research institutes as well as a total of nine international cooperation meetings.
