On May 26th, KICJ invited Dr. Soo-seok Maeng, President of the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (KCAB) to speak at the 2022 Seminar on the Law & Policy of Arbitration and Mediation on the topic of 'the role of KCAB and challenges in the development of the arbitration industry.' The seminar was held in person at KICJ and online via Zoom. Main points covered by Dr. Maeng included ▲outline of the arbitration system (its necessity, characteristics, procedures, pros and cons), and ▲arbitration cases in Korea and overseas (case summary, established facts, ruling, analysis). The presentation was followed by a discussion with the audience on the arbitration system and remaining challenges in improving the arbitration industry.
