The Korean Institute of Criminology (President In-Sup Han) cohosted Joint academic seminar on ‘Opening of municipal police era: challenge and prospects’ with Korean Association of Police Science, Presidential Committee on Autonomy and Decentralization, National Police Agency, and Korean Institute of Public Administration. The following topics were discussed in the meeting: - Operational plan of municipal police by local government with a focus on ordinances (the legislative power of local autonomy); - The direction of manpower management for the successful establishment of municipal police system; - Linkage service plan between municipal police and local administration; and - The direction of financial management for the successful establishment of municipal police system.
