On October 28th, KICJ and the Korea Maritime & Ocean University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the university headquarters to cooperate on criminal justice and legal research in maritime law.

The agreement ensures partnership in a number of areas such as joint research and academic events, personnel exchanges, reserach data and publication exchanges, and the establishment and operation of a joint research center for criminal justice and legal research in maritime law.

"We will expand research efforts to cover martime criminal justice and legal matters in addition to our current projects," said KICJ President Tae-hoon Ha at the ceremony. "We also look forward to a mutual strengthening of research capacities via the on-campus joint research center."

Deog Hee Doh, President of the Korea Maritme & Ocean University, also commented: "The stability of the maritime legal framework is particularly crucial for addressing environmental issues. We hope today's agreement is a step toward it."
