The 3rd Korea-Japan Criminal Justice Policy Forum

President Zin-Hwan Kim and delegates from KIC made a visit to Japan from 22nd to 26th March, upon the invitation from The United Nations Asia and Far East Institute (UNAFEI) and Meiji University School of Law. During the visit to UNAFEI, which is a PNI member and an international partner of KIC, the two institutes delivered presentations on their research projects and discussed the ways in which the two can further cooperate in the days to come. The Korea-Japan Criminal Justice Policy Forum was held in Meiji University to present on and discuss victim support, private prisons and civil participation in trials. President Zin-Hwan Kim delivered lectures in Meiji University and Keio University, with the topics of research outcomes in criminal justice and future research areas of KIC, and development of Korean criminal justice system with the application of forensic science, respectively. The schedule included visits to Research and Training Institute of Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Justice Japan. Delegates from KIC and members of the MoJ held meetings over exchange of criminal justice policies as well as joint research activities. Also, they made a short tour to Japanese Fuchu Prison to observe Japanese prison administration system.
