The World Crime Forum 1st Asian Regional Conference

The Korean Institute of Criminology (KIC) is scheduled to organize the World Crime Forum-1st Asian Regional Conference on June 20, 2013 under the topic of 'Information Society and Cybercrime: Challenges for Criminology and Criminal Justice', commissioned by the International Society of Criminology (ISC). The KIC has invited 10 prominent scholars and practitioners in the field of cybercrime from Asian countries and will have an in-depth discussion on emerging cybercrime issues such as organized cybercrime as a national threat, cloud computing forensics investigation, cyber victimization, online child exploitation and so on under the session topics of ‘Challenges to Criminology and Criminal Justice’ and ‘Responses of Criminology and Criminal Justice.’ At the request of ISC, the KIC is planning to record the event on a video tape to be posted on KIC and ISC websites and make it available to a wider audience. The intent of the Forum is to give practitioners, scholars and researchers a place where they could meet every year to discuss major issues or problems in criminology and criminal justice in their region or sub-continent such as North America, South America, Asia and Africa.
