The Korean Institute of Criminology (KIC) and the Korean Society of Criminology in America (KSCA) are scheduled to organize international academic conference to be held on June 19, 2013 in Seoul under the main theme of “Comparative Research on Crime Victimization and Policies in South Korea and the United States.” The conference aims to have an in-depth discussion on crime victimization and related policies based upon the crime victimization surveys conducted in Korea and the United States. Through this international forum, our goal is to lay the academic foundation for scholars and practitioners to exchange their views and ideas regarding challenges facing criminal justice systems in both countries. To boost the aim of this conference, both parties are expected to reach the MOU for more concrete academic exchange activities such as joint research and regular conference, personnel and information exchange and so on.
