"Development & Security: Rethinking Crime and Criminal Policies in Asia” August 20 (Mon) - 22 (Wed), 2012 / Lotte Hotel Seoul, Seoul With the rapid advancement in technology and changes in society, crime has become increasingly complex and transnational. The Korean Institute of Criminology (KIC) and Asian Criminological Society will address current criminological issues and seek for effective ways to cope with the new challenge. With the main theme "Development & Security: Rethinking Crime and Criminal Policies in Asia", the conference will offer rich opportunities to share research and fellowship of the participants from over 20 countries and more than 200 pieces of research works presented. We hope for an international exchange and cooperation in the field of criminal justice and crime prevention. Among the key-note speakers are Her Royal Highness Bajrakitiyabha MAHIDOL (Ambassador and Alternative Representative of the Kingdom of Thailand to the UN CCPCJ), MESSNER, Steven F.
