On Friday, January 18th, 2019, the Korean Institute of Criminology (KIC) held a joint symposium entitled, “Comparative Research on Motion to Amend Arrangement of Sections of the Criminal Procedure Act” with the Korean Association of Comparative Criminal Procedure Law at the Manhaegwan building of the Dongguk University. Presenters and discussants from the two agencies held sessions respectively on the history of amendments to the German and British Criminal Procedure Law and comparative research between the two European countries and Korea on the arrangement of sections of Criminal Procedure Laws. They also presented a public interest statement on the need for amending the arrangement of sections of the Korean Criminal Procedure Law.
